Istanbul

In two hours, I'm gonna join 500-or-so students on a number of buses on our way to Istanbul for four days. Wish me luck...

Clowns

My father, a very wise man, used to work in a circus when he was a boy. He used to tell me that they had a special word for people who painted their faces. They called them "Clowns".

I was walking to work yesterday morning, and saw quite a lot of them, all female...

Never argue with a fool in public...

Decided to walk to work yesterday morning, and a man with peculiar clothing (a rather strangely colored suit) standing in the middle of the road stopped me and ask me the following:

which, loosely translated, means:

"Hello, our job here is to randomly ask passers-by various questions. Would you say that the study of the Holy Bible is a beneficial thing in our time and age?"

Trying to follow my own advice, I thought to myself "you should never argue with a fool in public", patted him on the back, and said something along the lines of "I'd love to stay and chat, but I got business to attend to", and walked on by...

... At which point he started asking me if I would like a free copy of the magazine he was offering (on religious matters, of course)...

Who Are Larry and Sergey?

Try the obligatory google search for Larry And Sergey, and you will promptly find out. These two gentlemen have most certainly changed my world, and I suspect a lot of other's, too. Anyways, it's a cool trivia party question: "Who Are Larry and Sergey?"...

A Short History of Nearly Everything

by Bill Bryson...
The book came to my attention through this post here [blog's name is Ασάρωτος οίκος]. You can buy it here [amazon.co.uk], or, if you don't mind a little p2p, you may get it here [:-)].

Book's really funny, and the audio book version makes it even funnier...

Oh, forget to mention... The book is some sort of cronicle of scientific discovery, from the very beggining... You, know...

Leonard Cohen

for some unknown reason, the first two lyric lines from "First We Take Manhattan" kept ringing in my head all morning: They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom, for trying to change the system from within.

Till: The Blog

Mr. Μανώλης Παρούσης writes interesting thoughts, about life, the universe and everything in his blog, which can be found here.

UPS
